Joint Replacement With the Mako Robotic-Arm Assisted Surgery System

Tanner is advancing your orthopedic health with innovative robotic-arm assisted hip and knee replacement.

In 2017, the Mako Robotic-Arm Assisted Surgery System by Stryker Orthopaedics became the first and only robotic technology that can be used to perform total knee, total hip and partial knee replacements.

And Tanner Ortho and Spine Center is the only orthopedics provider in the region offering hip and knee replacement procedures with the Mako System.

Using CT-based 3-D modeling and Stryker’s exclusive virtual alignment system, orthopedic surgeons can perform hip and knee replacement with unprecedented precision for more consistent outcomes and more comfortable recoveries.

Tanner’s orthopedic surgeons will use the Mako System to create a personalized surgical plan and identify the implant size, orientation and alignment based on each patient’s unique anatomy. The Mako System’s robotic-arm doesn’t actually perform your surgery. Your orthopedic surgeon will use the Mako System to pre-plan your surgery and will guide the robotic-arm during your surgery. The system also allows your surgeon to make adjustments to your plan during surgery as needed for even more precision.

Tanner Ortho and Spine Center has earned the gold seal of accreditation from The Joint Commission’s Disease-specific Care Certification program for knee and hip replacement, certifying the center’s comprehensive approach to patient care and the staff’s commitment to using evidence-based practices and patient satisfaction. The center is also recognized as a Blue Distinction Specialty Care provider for hip and knee replacement surgery by Blue Cross Blue Shield.

Advanced treatments, state-of-the-art technology and accredited care — that’s orthopedic medicine beyond measure.
